Add an item
Add one piece of equipment by hand. It gets its own QR tag the moment it is saved.
- Go to Equipment and press Add equipment. (From a location's page, Add equipment here does the same with the location already filled in.)
- Type a Name, the only required field — what the crew calls it, such as “Bobcat S650 skid steer” or “Hilti TE 70 rotary hammer #3”.
- Fill in what you know: Asset number (your own ID, if you use one), Category, Where is it now?, Make, Model, Serial number, Engine hours, Purchase date, Purchase price and Notes.
- Press Add equipment.
The item gets its own FlowNext QR tag straight away; it is shown on the item's Details tab, ready to print. See Print QR labels for your equipment.
Which fields matter most
- Category sets the inspection interval, so pick one if the item needs inspecting. With no categories yet, the form links to Set up categories.
- Purchase price is what the cost of ownership report compares repair costs against.
- Make, model and serial number can be left blank: on Pro and Business, uploading a certificate, manual or receipt fills them in. See What AI document reading fills in.
After this, the location and status are changed with Move and Status on the item's page, not on the edit form. See Move an item or change its status from the office.
Note
If your plan's item limit is reached, Add equipment takes you to Billing instead. Archived items don't count. See What each plan includes, and item limits.
