Equipment tracking for landscaping companies
Mowers, trimmers and trailers by crew — with the hour readings
Landscaping fleets are a lot of mid-priced equipment that moves crew to crew and gets serviced by hours. FlowNext tracks which crew has each machine and keeps its readings and repairs together.
No card. Unlimited field users. From $39/month.

Seasonal crews
Crews grow every spring. Field users are free, so every crew lead can scan without a seat to buy.
Readings from the field
A crew lead logs the hour meter from the tag in seconds, and it sits with the mower's service history.
Repairs vs. replacements
With service costs logged per machine, it's clear which ones are costing more to keep than to replace.
What landscaping companies tag first
- Zero-turn and walk-behind mowers
- String trimmers and edgers
- Backpack blowers
- Aerators and dethatchers
- Trailers
- Hedge trimmers and chainsaws
Locations are whatever matches how you work: “Crew A trailer”, “Shop”, “Oak Park HOA”. Every move is recorded with who made it and when.
New accounts can start from a ready-made Landscaping category set: Mowers, Trimmers and edgers, Blowers, Chainsaws and hedge trimmers, Aerators and dethatchers, and Trailers, each with a typical inspection or service interval you can change.
Inspections and due dates
Mowers and aerators are serviced by engine hours; handheld equipment by season. Trailers are the item most likely to need a documented yearly inspection — give the trailer category a 12-month interval and upload each one.
Hours, repairs and the end of the season
Mowers are serviced by engine hours, and the hours are on the machine, not in the office. At the end of the week, each crew lead scans their mowers on the trailer and types the hour meter reading. The readings build up in each mower's history next to its service records.
The shop logs each oil change, blade sharpening and repair against the machine with what it cost (Pro and Business). Before the next season, the cost of ownership report lines up each mower's purchase price against everything spent on it and flags the ones whose repairs have reached half their price.
In November, when trailers come back to the shop, the equipment by location report shows what each crew still has out. Whatever isn't back yet is a phone call in November, not a surprise in March.
Service intervals by hours can be set on each category for reference, but FlowNext doesn't send service reminders yet; the shop works from the hour readings the crews keep current.

Questions
Will tags survive outdoor use?+
Paper labels won't last long outside. Our free sheets are fine to start; for the long term, use weatherproof labels or durable tags you already own — FlowNext's scanner reads existing QR codes and barcodes too.
Can I track trailers too?+
Yes. A trailer can be an item, and also a location other items sit in.
Does it remind us when a mower is due for service?+
Not yet. Service intervals are stored on the category for reference, and the hour readings are on each mower. Inspection reminders are sent; service reminders aren't.
