FlowNext vs. EZOfficeInventory

An EZOfficeInventory alternative when you only need the equipment part

EZOfficeInventory — its pricing page now calls it EZO EAM — covers the whole life of an asset: reservations, purchase orders, depreciation, stock, work orders, RFID and a long list of integrations. Both it and FlowNext give you unlimited users and price by how many items you track. The question is whether you'll use the breadth, or mostly need to know where the gear is, who has it and when it's due for inspection.

At 500 items

Both price by item count, so here's the same fleet on each:

PlanPer monthAdds
EZO Essential$81.41Check-outs, multiple locations, barcode and QR labels, mobile apps, basic service records, reservations, depreciation
EZO Advanced$117.11Custom fields and reports, purchase orders, audits, RFID and scanner support
EZO Premium$142.10Request portal, GPS integration, automations, AI features; work orders as a separately priced add-on
FlowNext Pro$89Tags, no-app field updates, inspection due dates and reminders, four reports, maintenance log with costs, AI reading of certificates

EZO prices as shown on its pricing page for 500 items with yearly billing selected, checked October 2026; it also offers monthly billing and a 14-day trial with no card. FlowNext is billed monthly. Confirm on ezo.io.

Breadth you might use — and what a crew needs

Where EZO's breadth pays off

  • Reserving equipment for future dates, with an availability calendar.
  • Purchase orders, vendors and depreciation for the accounting side.
  • Consumables and stock counts alongside fixed assets.
  • Single sign-on, Google Workspace, QuickBooks Online, Jira and Zendesk connections.
  • Offline mode, telematics and a dispatch center on Enterprise.

What FlowNext keeps to

  • A tag that opens in the phone's browser: move it, log hours, report a problem.
  • Inspection due dates from the certificate, a morning email and an auditor-ready PDF.
  • Who had each item and where it went, signed and dated.
  • What's on each jobsite and van right now, and who's in charge there.
  • Repair costs against purchase price, and when to stop repairing.

A system with more modules has more screens for the office to learn. For crews, the difference is starker: EZO's plans list its Android and iOS apps; a FlowNext tag needs nothing installed.

When EZOfficeInventory is the better choice

  • You need reservations, purchase orders or depreciation.
  • IT equipment, office assets and tools should share one system.
  • You rely on integrations such as single sign-on or QuickBooks.
  • You track well past 2,000 items.

When FlowNext is the better choice

  • It's tools and machines on jobsites, and you want the crew updating them.
  • Nobody on the crew will install an app.
  • Inspection certificates should set due dates without anyone typing them.
  • You'd rather not configure a system before using it.

Switching questions

Is FlowNext cheaper than EZOfficeInventory?+

At 500 items, FlowNext Pro ($89/month) sits between EZO's Essential and Advanced prices on yearly billing. It isn't a big saving — the difference is in what each is for.

Can I import my EZOfficeInventory assets?+

Export the Assets list as CSV and upload it unchanged. FlowNext recognises EZOfficeInventory's columns: the Asset Identification Number becomes the asset number, groups become categories, and “Purchased On” dates are read in its month/day/year format. Fields FlowNext doesn't have are kept in each item's notes, and any row it can't read is listed before anything is saved.

Does FlowNext do reservations?+

No. It records where equipment is and who has it now, not future bookings.
