FlowNext vs. Asset Panda
An Asset Panda alternative for trade crews, with the price on the page
Asset Panda is a general-purpose asset platform that schools, hospitals, city governments and construction companies shape to their own fields and workflows. Its pricing is a custom quote. FlowNext does one job — equipment tracking for contractors — and its three prices are on the pricing page. If you need to adapt one system across many departments, Asset Panda is built for that. If you need your crew scanning tools this week, read on.

Configure it yourself, or start from your trade
A platform that serves hospitals and school districts has to start blank: you decide the fields, the statuses, the workflows. That flexibility is Asset Panda's strength, and it's real work for someone in your office to set up well.
FlowNext starts from what contractors already track. Pick a category set and each category arrives with a typical inspection or service interval, which you can change:
- General contractor: Ladders, Scaffolding, Power tools, Generators…
- HVAC: Recovery machines, Vacuum pumps, Gauges and meters, Refrigerant cylinders…
- Electrical: Test equipment, Insulated tools, Ladders, Wire pullers…
- Plumbing: Drain machines, Inspection cameras, Pipe threaders, Jetters…
- Roofing: Harnesses and lanyards, Roof anchors and lifelines, Ladders, Ladder hoists…
- Restoration: Dehumidifiers, Air movers, Air scrubbers, Moisture meters and thermal cameras…
- Landscaping: Mowers, Trimmers and edgers, Blowers, Chainsaws and hedge trimmers…
- Facilities: Fire extinguishers, Ladders, Personnel lifts, Floor scrubbers…
- Concrete: Power trowels, Concrete saws, Screeds, Vibrators…
- Heavy equipment / rental: Excavators, Skid steers, Aerial lifts, Forklifts…
The trade-off: FlowNext's fields are fixed. If you need custom fields, approval workflows or one system for IT, facilities and fleet, it won't stretch that far.
When Asset Panda is the better choice
- Several departments — IT, facilities, fleet — need one configurable system.
- You need custom fields and workflows that match an existing process.
- Crews work where there's no signal and need an app that copes.
- You'd rather have a quote and a guided demo than self-serve.
When FlowNext is the better choice
- You want to know the price before the first call.
- You're a trade contractor and want categories and intervals ready on day one.
- Your crew should scan with no app to install.
- Inspection certificates and their due dates are central to your week.
Which one should you pick?
- If equipment tracking is one of many asset jobs across your organization → Asset Panda.
- If it's tools and machines moving between jobs, vans and the yard → FlowNext.
- If you want to try it on your own gear for two weeks without a card → FlowNext.
- If offline use in the field is a must → Asset Panda's app.
Switching questions
How long does FlowNext take to set up?+
Sign up, pick your trade's category set, import a spreadsheet or add a few items, and print a sheet of QR labels on Avery 5160 paper. Most of the time goes into sticking the labels on.
Can FlowNext add custom fields?+
Not today. Each item has a name, number, category, location, make, model, serial number, purchase details, hours and notes.
Can I import from Asset Panda?+
If you can export your assets to a spreadsheet, FlowNext imports the CSV and matches columns such as name, serial number, category and location by header.
