The item page: Details, Documents, Maintenance and History

What each tab on an item holds, and why the edit form can't change where an item is.

Click any item on Equipment to open its page. The header has Edit and Archive; below it are four tabs, each with a count.

Details

The item's status and location, its fields (make, model, serial number, engine hours, purchase date and price, next inspection), and notes. Underneath:

Documents

Inspection certificates, warranties, manuals, receipts and other files, each with a coloured stripe showing its status. See Upload an inspection certificate or other document.

Maintenance

Repairs and servicing, with dates and costs. Logging maintenance is on Pro and Business. See Log maintenance and repairs.

History

Everything that has happened to the item, newest first: moves, scans, status changes, problem reports, hour readings, documents and edits, each with who did it and when. Where a phone's location was saved, a Map link shows where. History can't be edited or deleted.

Why Edit can't change the location or status

The edit form changes what the item is — its name, numbers and purchase details. Where it is and whether it works are changed with Move and Status, because those write a history entry with who and when. That record is what makes the chain of custody report trustworthy.
