The cost of ownership report
Purchase price plus logged repairs per item, and when an item is flagged "Consider replacing".
Reports → Cost of ownership shows what each item has cost to buy and to keep running.
- Purchase price: from the item's details (filled in by an uploaded receipt on Pro and Business, if it was blank).
- Repairs: the total cost of its maintenance entries, how many there are, and what share of the purchase price they come to.
- Total cost: both added together.
Totals for the whole list are at the top. Filter by category, and choose which equipment: In use, Consider replacing, Retired or All. Download CSV exports the list.
“Consider replacing”
An item is flagged when its repairs reach 50% of its purchase price. An item with no purchase price is never flagged, because there's nothing to compare with.
Items missing from the report
An item appears once it has a purchase price or a maintenance entry. Only costs typed into the maintenance log count; see Log maintenance and repairs.
