Log maintenance and repairs

Record work done on an item with its date, cost and hour reading, so the cost of ownership report adds up.

  • Applies to: Pro and Business plans
  1. Open the item and go to the Maintenance tab.
  2. Under the list, fill in Work done (for example “Oil and filter change”) and the Date.
  3. Add the Cost ($), the Engine hours at service and any Notes you have.
  4. Press Log maintenance.

The entry shows on the tab with who logged it, and in the item's history. An entry logged by mistake can be taken off with Remove.

Why the cost matters

The cost of ownership report adds up the cost of every entry against the item's purchase price, and flags items whose repairs have reached half of what they cost. Only costs typed here count — an uploaded invoice isn't read for its amount.

On the Starter plan, the tab shows earlier entries but says where logging is available instead of the form.
