The chain of custody report

Every check-out, check-in, status change, problem report and scan, filtered by item, person or dates.

Reports → Chain of custody answers “where has this been, and who had it last?”. Each row is one event: when, which item, what happened, from where to where, and who did it.

What's included

  • Checked out: moved to a jobsite, vehicle or person.
  • Checked in: moved back to a yard or warehouse.
  • Status changes and problem reports.
  • Scans of the item's tag.

Filtering

Pick one item, one person, or a date range. The report opens on the last 30 days; clear the dates to see everything. Download CSV exports exactly what's filtered.

Names stay as they were

Each row keeps the location and person names from the time. If “Van 4” is renamed or someone leaves the team, older rows still say what they said that day.

For everything else that happens to equipment — hour readings, maintenance, documents, edits — use the activity log.
