Set up FlowNext in your first hour
The four steps on the dashboard's Get set up list: locations, a category template, your equipment and your crew.
Until you have some equipment and at least one field user, the dashboard shows a Get set up list with four steps. Each one links to the screen where it is done, and is ticked off once it is.
- Add your yard, vans and jobsites. Go to Locations → Add location. Start with where equipment lives (your yard or shop) and your vehicles; add jobsites as they start. See Add yards, vehicles, jobsites and people.
- Pick a category template for your trade. In Settings → Categories, press the button for your trade under Start from a template. It adds that trade's usual categories with typical inspection intervals, which you can change. See Categories, inspection intervals and service schedules.
- Add or import your equipment. If you already have a spreadsheet, save it as CSV and use Import CSV; otherwise add items one at a time. See Import equipment from a spreadsheet.
- Invite your crew. In Settings → Team, invite each person by email with the Field (free) role. Field users are free and unlimited on every plan. See Invite your team, or remove someone.
Then print tags: on Equipment, press Print tags and download the PDF of labels for every item. Stick them on, and the first scan from a crew phone is the moment FlowNext starts keeping itself up to date. See Print QR labels for your equipment.
Tip
Don't wait until every item is in. Twenty items that the crew actually scans are worth more than three hundred nobody has tagged yet. For a plan for the tagging itself, read how to tag your equipment.
